It was a tearful homecoming today for some valley Army National Guard soldiers.
They made it home to their loved ones just in time for the holidays.
Stefania Okolie has this heart-warming story.
Loved ones wiped away tears as a long wait finally came to happy ending after nearly a year serving oversees.
“My heart stopped like I just needed to find my husband it’s been so long.”
“Nothing compares to the first hugs. She has missed him so much; its’ been so hard.”
The first kiss-- and for some, the very first time they'll wrap their babies in their arms.
More than 150 Army National Guard soldiers were welcomed home today after a successful deployment in Kosovo.
Hundreds of life-saving missions were completed over the 9 month deployment-- and now they soldiers are home just in time for the holidays.
“Spend some good quality time with the family.”
That, plus the simple things like…
“mow the grass and go outside and swim in the swimming pool…that sort of thing.”
Hundreds of families got their heroes back today and are feeling incredibly proud of their sacrifice.
“Pride…successful deployment and a safe return.”
