SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) -- It's apparently "ciao" for Cowboy Ciao in Scottsdale, as the restaurant abruptly closed its doors over the weekend.
According to a statement posted on the restaurant's unverified Facebook page, the restaurant opened for the last time on Sunday.
The post did not mention why the restaurant is closing, or what, if any, future plans are in place. Meanwhile, a sign taped to the door of the now-shuttered restaurant is telling people to head to another nearby restaurant. FOX 10 reached out to the restaurant mentioned on the sign. The owner did not want to go on camera, but said tax and financial issue may have played a role in Cowboy Ciao's closure.
According to the restaurant's website, Cowboy Ciao opened in February of 1997. Posts on the restaurant's unverified Facebook page showed that the restaurant opened up a branch at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport 2012. That restaurant is reportedly located near behind the security checkpoint at Terminal 4.
