Jury selection begins in trial of ASU rugby player accused of assault

He's accused of assaulting a rival team member and on Monday, an Arizona State University rugby player will be headed to court.

Christopher Crawford was arrested in February following a rugby match between ASU and the University of Arizona.

On Tuesday, jury selection will begin in his aggravated assault trial.

Crawford allegedly attacked a U of A player while he was tying his shoe during a game earlier in the year. Police say Crawford kicked the player in the face, then ran from the scene.

The victim was knocked unconscious and required facial reconstruction surgery.
