Juvenile arrested after social media threat made towards school

A juvenile suspect has been arrested after a threat was posted on social media.

The Chandler Police Department tells Fox 10 that the threat was posted on the social media platform known as "Snapchat." In the post, a clipart image of a handgun is shown saying "If you go to Hamilton, just don't come tomorrow."

Several concerned parents called the Fox 10 newsroom after the threat was posted online and they said they would be holding their children out of school on Monday. However, the juvenile suspect was identified and arrested late Sunday night after telling police that the threat made on "Snapchat" was a joke.

Police now say there is no real threat and there will be a police presence at Hamilton High School on Monday.
