Funeral home in Chandler heavily damaged by fire

Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that ravaged a funeral home in Chandler Sunday night.

According to a statement released by the Sheriff's Office on Monday, the office, along with the Chandler Fire Department, responded to the fire at approximately 10:00 p.m., which was located at the 10000 block of Chandler Heights Road.

According to Chandler fire officials, no one was inside of the structure, and there were reportedly no bodies inside, but according to officials, Several already cremated bodies were reportedly affected by the fire.

Offiicals said despite the chemicals inside of the structure, there did not appear to be Hazmat issues.

The fire, according to the statement, caused significant property damage. Arson investigators with MCSO are investigating the fire, but according to the statement, it does not appear there are any suspicious circumstances at this time.
