Tempe Police: Man arrested, accused of killing 20-year-old woman

Tempe Police say a man has been arrested, in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old woman.

According to a statement released by Tempe Police Thursday afternoon, Andrew J. Kerr was arrested at the Tempe Police headquarters on Tuesday. Investigators claim he was responsible for the shooting death of Ijanae Ennals.

Ennals, police say, was found dead from a single gunshot wound, inside a hotel room on the 1600 block of N. Scottsdale Road in Tempe. Kerr and Ennals, according to investigators, were acquaintances.

Police say they found evidence linking Kerr to Ennals' murder, after they got a search warrant for Kerr's car and home.

Kerr, according to police, is being charged with a count of First Degree Murder.
