Man accused of driving the wrong way, naked, with son in car over the summer

A man has been arrested, accused of driving the wrong way, naked, with his young son in the car.

It was a wild incident that played out along the I-17 near flagstaff over the summer. Now, dashcam video captured that day, along with the 911 call made that day, were released.

The call came from a Good Samaritan, who spotted the suspect's wife and stopped to help. The wife told police she and her husband were in town visiting family, when they had a fight.

On the phone, a man who stopped to help a woman who's husband was acting erratically along the I-17 near Flagstaff. The woman, who can be heard in the background screaming, said her husband, Montrais Boyd, Sr., left her and drove off with her four-year-old son.

When troopers caught up to Boyd, he was weaving in and out of traffic, and drove the wrong way several times. Troopers were able to stop him, but Boyd, who was naked, ran to a patrol car and began punching it. DPS officials said he then got back in his car, with the child in the front seat, rammed a trooper's vehicle several times, and drove off.

Troopers pursued the BMW before Boyd ran into a rock embankment, and rolled the car.

Boyd was then seen climbing out of a car window, before sitting down on the side of the freeway, where he was taken into custody.

Boyd was arrested after the incident, and booked on charges of aggravated assault, felony endangerment, child abuse and criminal damage. His son was not seriously injured.
