Indecent exposure arrest: Man accused of urinating on Peoria Police station

On Monday, Peoria Police were notified by a city employee that a man was urinating on a wall directly in front of the main police station near 83rd Avenue and Cinnabar.

When detectives responded to the call, they found a large puddle just outside of the station's entrance. The caller also told them that the man was inside of the station.

As it turns out, the man, identified as 55-year-old Joseph Wasylk, was there to pick up his impounded vehicle. Wasylk had been arrested over the weekend for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Officers say Wasylk had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath and person. He was arrested for indecent exposure.

When asked if he thought it was a good idea to pick up his vehicle while intoxicated, he replied by saying "I am not incosicated."

Officer Brandon Sheffert says this serves as an important reminder to not drink and drive.
