Man assaulted during police chase gets new bike

It was one of the most dramatic police chases in the valley, a man in a white truck raced down the road, it all ending when police spun the vehicle out on I-10.
The suspect who was wanted in a hit and run in southern Arizona was taken to the hospital and eventually taken to jail.
But one of the most intense moments was when the driver got out of the truck and ripped a man off his motorcycle. That man fought back and came to blows with the suspect. As the man got back in his truck police opened fire, but not before he ran over the motorcycle totaling the bike.
The man who owned that motorcycle now has a new set of wheels thanks to Kelly's Kawasaki.
"I'm at a loss for words, I've been trying to figure out what to say since I found out, and I'm still just dumbfounded that this is even happening," said Brandon Jenkins.
Exactly one week ago Brandon Jenkins took what would be the last ride on his beloved motorcycle after the suspect in a high-speed chase attempted to steal the bike and ran over it with a stolen truck.
"I still can't believe it happened, to be honest, you know I was just going home, and it just kinda feels like a dream I didn't wake up from, the good news is it had a happy ending," said Jenkins.
That happy ending was made sweeter by the folks at Kelly's Kawasaki who saw what happened to Brandon and wanted to help.
"For what he's been through, he's a young man recently engaged, he's gonna start a family, and we'd just thought we'd step in because the motorcycle community is a tight-knit community," said Jim Swanson.
With the new keys to his brand new bike, Brandon says he still can't believe how much good came out of something so bad.
"Thank God Kawasaki came, and you know put their foot in and said we're going to help you out, because if not I probably wouldn't be riding for a few years because I don't make enough money to restore the GSXR," said Jenkins.
