Man hopes to find couple who stole his American flag over Memorial Day weekend

Someone stole the American flag from a valley man who was flying the flag to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice this Memorial Day.
The day before we honor those who died protecting our freedom, a man and woman walked up to a man’s home in broad daylight and stole his flag.
The crime was captured by a neighbor’s surveillance camera near Chandler Heights and Higley Road in Gilbert.
In the footage, you can plainly watch as a couple walks up to the home carrying a step ladder in broad daylight.
They then take down the flag, roll it up, and walk away.
Tonight, the victim wants to send a message to whoever did this.
"It was predetermined that they were coming to take that flag down for whatever reason," said victim Phil Miller.
"What... hmm…Who does that? If there was some concern or they had issue with the way the flag was put up, you ring the doorbell to have the conversation would have been the civil thing to do instead of taking someone's property."
It's always wrong to steal, but Phil says it hurts just a little bit more that his flag was taken over Memorial Day weekend.
"For me personally, my father being a veteran, and several of my family members that I know are veterans and to be honoring them in that fashion or lack thereof is really frustrating."
Phil hopes one day he'll have the chance to come face to face with the couple that did this to share a message, but until then he's not waving a white flag of surrender.
"I wasn't going to let this deter me or my family or this weekend, and I went out immediately this morning first thing, and got another flag and put it right back up."
If you recognize the couple in the footage, please call 911 or Silent Witness.
