Man arrested in deadly party shooting

Glendale police officers responded to a home near 67th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road early Saturday morning after a shooting.

Once on scene, officers located 21-year-old Carson Dumbrell of Glendale, suffering from a single gunshot wound, according to David Vidaure with the Glendale Police Department.

Paramedics responded to the scene to treat Dumbrell, but their efforts were unsuccessful and the young man was pronounced dead on scene.

During the initial investigation, detectives learned that another young man, 21-year old Jordan Hanson, had hosted a party at his home with a small number of friends. At some point he asked the partygoers to leave and an argument with Dumbrell ensued, said Vidaure.

The argument turned into a physical fight and ultimately, Hanson shot Dumbrell, according to Vidaure.

Hanson left his home before officers arrived on scene, but a short time later he called police from a nearby location.

Police took Hanson into custody without incident and he has since been charged with 2nd-degree homicide.
