Man says he brought rolled ice cream to Arizona

Rolled ice cream is a cool dessert trend that's actually been around for a couple of years now, but one valley man brought it to Arizona back in 2015.

Now a few years later, he introduces his new shop to the west valley called Nomadic Ice Cream Rolls.

"I just knew Arizona needed something liek this. We just have the perfect weather for it," said Nino McCurley.

It all started by watching a video a couple of years ago.

"I just knew whatever that is, I want to be the best at it," McCurley said.

A week later, McCurley purchased the proper machinery. He was determined to create the best ice cream rolls.

"I spent three months just figuring it out. Made a lot of bad ice cream, but I did it," McCurley said.

He began selling his specialty at events and worked his way up until he was able to open up a spot of his own.

This sensational dessert originated in southeast Asia. It's known as Thai rolled ice cream. McCurley says his are difference. He called them Arizona ice cream rolls.

"It's real ice cream. It's everything you want in dessert and more," McCurley said.

He also incorporates the toppings into the rolls by smashing them up into the liquid ice cream. And in no time, you have perfectly rolled ice cream.
