PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A man was shot and killed during an overnight standoff with police on Tuesday.
Phoenix police say they responded to a home near 19th Avenue and Peoria when a woman called police saying she was assaulted by her brother, 39-year-old Levi Wilson, and that he had fired a gunshot at her. When police arrived at the home, Wilson was armed and refused to come out.
Nearby homes were evacuated and police negotiated with Wilson for several hours. At about midnight, he came out of the home and pointed a gun to himself and to officers.
Three police officers fired at Wilson, who was hit by gunshots and taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
The investigation is ongoing by police.
