Man stabbed to death, teen suspect on the run

A man has been stabbed to death outside a downtown market and the suspect, an alleged teen, is on the run.

Phoenix police tell Fox 10 that the victim was walking to a restaurant with his girlfriend Sunday night when he got into a fight with a 14-to-16-year-old teenager. The fight quickly escalated and the teen allegedly stabbed the man several times before leaving the area on his bicycle.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. The man's family says he did not know the suspect and that it was a random attack.

"Turn yourself in please," said Gwendolyn Hernandez, the victim's sister-in-law. "Do what's right, even though you made a wrong choice. You have to fix this."

Police also say the suspect left the scene with an unidentified female.

The suspect is described as a teen, between 14 and 16-years-old, with a fade haircut and he was last seen wearing a T-shirt and blue jeans.
