PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Margaret T. Hance Park is getting a facelift, but instead of asking "How do I look" post nip-tuck, members of the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department want to know your opinion before going under the knife.
"We want residents to come by and take a look at new design concepts that we have for Hance Park," Gregg Bach said.
The 32-acre existing park is home to concerts, festivals and special events year-round, and with new concepts on the table, expansion and inclusion are the goals.
"A playground and activities to do, looking at some other spots were there could be some buildings and cafes and areas for people to come out, sit outside and eat outside and have that cafe experience," Bach said.
We caught up with Valley resident James, who stopped by to check out the plans. He says the renderings are incredible, but it doesn't take much to make a good park even better.
"All the trees, more shade, and then there's some water," he said.
The parks department add it's the perfect time for growth, as the city itself is expanding every day.
"There's a revitalization downtown right now with residents and lots of building being built up, so this is all part of that plan as well," Bach said.
