Marine Corps veteran, family get new home

It's a special moment for this family as Zahid Ali, his wife and son are seeing their new home for the first time.

"My heart dropped, basically I was in shock," Zahid said.

The new home was donated to them by the non-profit group Rebuilding Together.

"Overall, I'm just so happy, so happy, so blessed, so excited, just overwhelmed with emotions right now,"Stephanie Ali said. "Actually, walking in was breathtaking and it kind of sunk in and now everything is sinking in, kind of just everything is just..."

Zahid is a veteran and while deployed to Afghanistan as a Marine, he experienced a traumatic brain injury that's impacted his day-to-day activities.

"It's not easy coming from war to try to get back on your feet and to get something like this," he said. "I'm very humbled and blessed."

He's thankful that now he can focus on getting his Associate's Degree from Phoenix College in his new home.

"It means a lot for my family, it helps a lot for these organizations out there who help wounded, ill, injured veterans transition," he said.

Now he can finally say home sweet home.
