Mattress Firm donates beds to family in need

It's not Santa in a sleigh, but these workers dressed in the colors of Christmas were definitely delivering holiday cheer.

Mattress Firm donated five beds to a valley family: one queen, and four twins, complete with frames, pillows, and sheets.

"It just touches your heart, especially around Christmas," said David Hickey.

The family are students in the Cartwright School District. They had all been sleeping on the floor for the past year. When the school district heard about their situation, they took action and asked Mattress Firm for help.

"We love to go above and beyond, and if there is anything we can do to help our families, we want to be able to do that," said Kris Kurtz.

Sadly, the mom who is battling health problems was in the hospital and unable to see the delivery.

"They asked if we want to postpone the delivery, they said absolutely not. We can't afford one more night of sleeping on the floor," said Hickey.

The children are thankful that Christmas came early.

"If my mom were here, she would have been so happy, she wouldn't be stressing. Now she gets to sleep on a bed, and not the floor," said Makayla Raphael.
