MCACC: 'Empty the Shelter' event offers free pet adoptions

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Maricopa County's two animals shelters are at critical levels and nearly double the capacity at each facility.

On Saturday, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control are partnering with Bissell and PetSmart Charities and hosting an 'Empty the Shelter' event at both east and west MCACC locations.

All of the pets are free. The only fee associated with the event is the $17 licensing fee for any dog above the age of three months.

When adopting an animal, MCACC provides dog licensing, microchips and rabies vaccinations.

This event takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
