MCSO searches for woman accused of leaving her dog in a hot car

BUCKEYE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding Mary Newell-Finger. She's accused of leaving her Siberian Husky locked in her car at a Walmart store's parking lot located on Watson Road.

Officials say on April 6 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Newell-Finger was seen parking her vehicle and walking into the business while leaving the dog unattended. MCSO officials stated the motor was turned off and the windows were closed, leaving no air circulation in the car with inside temperatures soaring in excess of 115°.

The dog was taken to a veterinarian and will have no lasting health issues. It remains at MCSO's M.A.S.H. unit for care.

Newell-Finger is 41 years old and described as being 5' 6" tall, weighing 120 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. If you have any information regarding her whereabouts, call MCSO at 602-876-1011.
