MCSO teams up with Border Patrol to rescue people in the desert

MCSO said they received inaccurate information about a group of people who got lost while crossing through the desert.
They now tell us that there was a total of 5 people, not 20, who got lost in the in the desert south of Interstate 8 and east of Gila Bend, according to Deputy Joaquin Enriquez with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department.
Enriquez says they were were without water for several days.
Those 5 people have all been located and they are alive. However, they have been transported to the hospital for evaluation, Enriquez says.
The people are Hispanic and they have been turned over to officials with the U.S. Border Patrol, according to Enriquez.
Crews with the federal Bureau of Land Management also assisted MCSO with the search.
