Health agencies: Measles case reported in Maricopa County

PHOENIX (AP) -- Arizona health officials say they've confirmed another cases of measles, this time in Maricopa County.

The Department of Health Services' tally of confirmed new cases of measles now stands at 14, all but one in Pinal County.

The department says the new Maricopa County case is tied to a private detention center in Eloy in Pinal County, as has been the case with all the Pinal County cases.

Pinal County Public Health Services District spokesman Joe Pyritz says they haven't yet seen measles spreading out into the community as a whole.

Officials say the Maricopa County person is no longer infectious and does not pose a risk to the public.

The first two cases of the highly contagious virus were reported on May 26.
