Meeting held to discuss Maricopa charter school issues

Parents and students of a Maricopa charter school are continuing to demand answers as to why two administrators resigned.

Earlier this week students and some staff walked out of Sequoia Pathway Academy when the administrators were let go.

A meeting was held Thursday night for parents and students, at the meeting Tamara Becker, the Assistant Interim Principal said she would be taking over for the short term.

This comes after Superintendent Douglas Pike held an unexpected meeting Tuesday when the Dean of Students and Assistant Principal resigned or were forced to resign.

Becker said she could not discuss the personnel issues.

Parents say they want answers, but the meeting they felt was a step in the right direction.

Fall break for the school does start on Friday; parents hope after the break things will all be sorted out.
