MESA, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A Mesa family is demanding answers from authorities after their dog was injured during a police operation last week.

The dog was in it's own backyard when officers rushed in looking for a suspect, they ended up shooting it with a less-lethal round. The owner said police never told them they shot the animal and the wound could have been deadly.
