Missing woman found dead in Phoenix; husband named as suspect

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Police officials have identified a suspect in connection with the death of a woman who was reported missing.

According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson with Phoenix police, 54-year-old Cynthia Minor was found dead on September 6 inside an apartment near 24th Street and Osborn. Police say Minor had been reported missing in Scottsdale.

Late Friday afternoon, Sgt. Thompson identified the suspect as her husband, 69-year-old Derek Minor. Sgt. Thompson says the Minors were in the process of separating when Cynthia returned to the apartment they once shared to pick up some items.

Derek Minor, according to Sgt. Thompson, was last seen driving a 2008 orange Honda Element with Arizona license plate CHV5118.
