Monsoon 2015: Storm damages homes in Scottsdale

Tuesday's monsoon storm closed roads, flooded homes, and destroyed yards.
It's what some people woke up to in Scottsdale.
Mother nature left her mark, but not just on the streets.
"When I got into the house I noticed the water was coming from the backyard through the house," said Brenda Freidman.
Brenda Freidman and her husband's home were caught in the middle of a heavy rain storm, water quickly rushed into their yard.
"The backyard was all under water, you couldn't tell the difference from the pool to the yard, and then it was coming into the house," said Freidman.
The water made it into all five bedrooms.
"Living room, kitchen, all the wood, it was really serious so we stayed up all night," she said.
Now it's cleanup time for the couple.
"You're just in a daze, it's just devastating, and the main thing for me was how can I get this water out," said Freidman.
Just laying towels down wasn't enough.
"I'm waiting for a crew to come today, tear the carpeting out and dry out the house, we're just shocked and it is devastating to see all the damage," she said.
It was a day they had planned to celebrate, but now they will spend it renovating.
"It's a holiday for my husband, a jewish holiday, so we're going to spend our day home praying that we can get dried out, and hopefully some friends will drop by and help us too," said Freidman.
The intersection of 84th Street and Cactus nearby was closed until 8:30 Wednesday morning.
