Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash involving Phoenix police car

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash involving a Phoenix police car on Wednesday morning.

The Phoenix Police Department says the crash happened at 27th and Northern Avenues just after 7 a.m. The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The officer involved in the crash was not injured.

Traffic restrictions are in place due to the crash. Please avoid the area.
