DPS raids home in south Phoenix

Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers raided a home in south Phoenix early Saturday morning.

Several people were seen being taken into custody as DPS troopers served a drug-related search warrant at the home. It happened just after midnight and several different agencies were involved in the police incident in the home near 7th Street and Southern.

The Phoenix Police Gang Enforcement unit assisted DPS troopers by providing perimeter security, according to DPS. Two armored vehicles and several heavily armed SWAT team members were spotted on-scene.

We are told several people were taken into custody and witnesses say they heard several explosions and officers breaking windows and doors. We're told several people were taken out of the home in handcuffs; children were also seen coming out of the home.

DPS says the investigation is ongoing and they are unable to release additional details. They do point out that no children were arrested or placed in handcuffs.
