Native American festival offers history, culture through art

The 24th Annual Litchfield Park Native American Fine Arts Fest wrapped up today, but organizers say it's a whole lot more than just an art show. It’s a lesson in Native American culture and tradition.
At the 24th Annual Litchfield Park Native American Fine Arts Fest, it's all about connecting with the artists, to learn about the thought and the process behind every unique piece.
“When you come here, you're going to experience a lot of the Native American culture,” says Sonny Culbreth with the City of Litchfield Park. “You're going to see about a hundred of the finest jurored artists you can find.”
From art, to jewelry, to paintings and pottery, the festival features it all and organizers hope patrons get to know the artists behind the incredible works of art.
“We have an education where you can talk to the artists and performers and talk to them about their culture and the history of what they're doing,” says Culbreth.
Buying art not just for its beauty, but the stories and culture behind it.
