Neighbor files lawsuit against Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center over animal noise

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A lawsuit filed against the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center over noise may force the center to shut down.

The neighbor, Seth Gortler, is suing the SWCC over animal noise and he released the following statement to Fox 10 regarding his lawsuit:

"Long before filing the suit, I tried to speak with the SWCC and their director about the noise, and even offered to donate money toward building a structure and/or relocating the animals, but the completely ignored me.

The lawsuit was the very last resort. They can't argue against anything I've said in the lawsuit, so they've taken to the press to vilify me."

The SWCC has been open for over 20 years and the center's director, Linda Searles, says animal noise coming from the center shouldn't surprise anyone.

"Well, we certainly recognize that there's noises coming from here," she said. "That's what we do, we're here for the community and we house these animals and we've never made a secret of it."
