New immersive art exhibit at SMOCA: Infinity Room

A new art exhibit that recently opened at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art may not be for the faint of heart, especially if you don't like flashing lights.

The Infinity Room is unlike other pieces of art. This one allows viewers to get in and experience something out of this world.

"It was kind of like you're in Alice in Wonderland," said a participant.

The 10-by-10 room is mirrored and then images are projected to give those inside the room the feeling of floating in an infinite abyss.

"There's a lot of visuals, based on everyone's own life experiences, will kind of come up and they'll have their own relationship with the piece."

"You're walking into space. You're walking into this artwork."

The immersive installation is done by Los Angeles-based artist Refik Anadol. The art installation might not be for everyone, but for those who try it out, it's a whole new way to experience art.

"It's a little bit trippy, and you're kind of questioning your physical space."
