Man killed, 2 hurt in McDowell Rd. shooting

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - One man is dead and two people were injured after a shooting at a Phoenix bar near 48th Street and McDowell.

Gunfire broke out at the Break Room Bar and Grill at 48th Street and McDowell Road at about 1:30 a.m., on Saturday.

Police say an unknown suspect began firing shots toward a group of people in the parking lot of the bar. Thirty-three-year-old Floyd Wimbush was killed in the shooting.

A 37-year-old woman was shot in the leg and a 55-year-old man was reportedly shot in the back. Both are expected to survive.

Investigators say the suspect was firing shots from a vehicle while traveling westbound on McDowell Road.
