One person injured after car crashes into city bus

One person was injured after a car flipped over after colliding with a city bus on Monday morning.

The Phoenix Police Department tells Fox 10 that the car hit the city bus after it made a U-turn directly in front of the bus. After the collision, the car flipped on its side near 39th Avenue and Southern.

Two people inside the car fled the scene after the crash, leaving a third person inside the car. That person was taken to a hospital, but the extent of injuries is unknown.

Southern is shut down from 39th to 43rd Avenue as police continue their investigation.
