Pairs of rescue dogs up for adoption at Valley center

Those in the market for a new furry friend may want to consider a double dose of puppy love. Pairs of rescue dogs are now up for adoption.

Friends are the family we choose for ourselves. Like Bentley chose Wiskey and Roxi chose Riley. Best pals like Cubby and Rizzo, who love each other as much as they'd love a new home with paws always crossed that they'll meet their new family together.

"Often times there are two dogs that are bonded who have lived together for many years or they might have been found stray together," said Sherry Petta with Pathways Home Animal Rescue.

Advocates with the animal rescue Pathways Home say dogs come to them through various paths, but many don't know a life without the comfort of their companion.

Like Ruby and Pearl, who Sue Nennemann tells us are always side by side.

:These girls have been together for seven years and to separate them would cause undo harm to one or the other," she said. "Sometimes, they'll pine for each other, other times they won't even eat."

The rescue has six or seven pairs in need of forever homes and people who will choose them to make their families whole.

If you really can't take a pair, Pathways Home Animal Rescue has plenty of adorable, single dogs ready for a new family.
