PCSO investigating attempted abduction of 26-year-old woman in San Tan Valley

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- Officials with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office are investigating the attempted abduction of a 26-year-old woman.

According to a statement released by the office Thursday evening, the incident happened before 10:00 a.m on Thursday, in the Johnson Ranch area of San Tan Valley. The woman told investigators she noticed someone in a car following her, as she was jogging near Maravilla Drive and Indigo Sky Boulevard. As the driver was following the woman, he allegedly made inappropriate comments and noises at the woman, and when she got to an intersection, the man opened the car's door, grabbed the woman by the arm, and tried to pull her into the car.

The victim, according to PCSO officials, was able to get away, but the driver continued to follow, telling her to get into the truck. The driver took off as soon as he realized the victim was calling 911. The woman was treated for minor injuries to her wrist.

The driver is described by PCSO as a white man in his mid-30s, with brown hair and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a light colored or white shirt at the time, and the vehicle involved is described as possibly a gray Toyota Tacoma of unknown model year. Anyone with information should call PCSO at (520) 866-5111.
