Pedestrian hit, killed by car in Phoenix

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A deadly collision involving a pedestrian has closed a Phoenix intersection on Monday morning.

Phoenix police say the collision has closed the intersection of 39th Avenue and McDowell Road.

The closure is expected to last throughout the morning.

Witnesses at the scene say a pedestrian was hit by a car while she was crossing the street and collecting recyclables in the road.

One person has been taken into police custody.
