Peoria elementary school on lockdown after barricade situation

On Friday afternoon, Peoria police responded to a barricade situation near 75th Avenue and Sweetwater, south of Thunderbird.
An elementary school in the area was on lockdown because of the situation.
Students at Oasis Elementary were released to parents by grade level.
A large group of parents gathered in front of a home to wait for their children.
At one time the suspect was talking with police but stopped communication.
Police say a teacher at the school had her kids outside during recess and that is when she noticed a man in the area who looked suspicious.
The teacher got the kids back inside and proceeded to call the police.
Peoria Unified School District was issuing updates on the situation here.
The situation came to an end when it was discovered that the man lived at the home and there was never a threat.
