Peoria man accused of molesting kids at martial arts school

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- A Peoria man who heads up a martial arts school in Cave Creek has been arrested and accused of child molestation.

25-year-old Yong Jin Jung faces seven felony counts of child molestation and indecent exposure. The incidents allegedly happened at Maru Taekwondo in North Phoenix, where he is an instructor. On Tuesday, police took Jung into custody from his Taekwando studio.

Court paperwork has laid out a graphic, disturbing series of events that allegedly unfolded. According to the documents, Jung allegedly fondled a six-year-old girl and a nine-year-old girl at his office at the martial arts school, between October of 2016 and August 28, of 2018.

On Wednesday, no one answered the door at the home Jung listed in Peoria as his address. A neighbor who has never met Jung, however, said she is saddened.

"As a parent, I take my kids to preschool or extracurricular activities," said the neighbor. "I trust these adults to take care of my kids and look after them and teach them. It makes me really sad for those kids and parents that something that shouldn't have happened, happened."

According to court documents, Jung is charged with Molestation of a Child, Attempted Molestation of a Child, and Indecent Exposure. Jung is being held on a $100,000 cash bond, and is scheduled to be back in superior court on September 11.
