PEORIA, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- Peoria Police announced the arrest of a man, in connection with a domestic violence homicide involving a 59-year-old man.
According to a statement released late Thursday evening, 26-year-old Christopher Jones was arrested on February 20. Officers were called to the incident scene, located on the 7300 block of W. Montgomery Road at around 5:00 p.m. on February 19. Officers were called to the scene, after a woman said she went to her brother's home, since her brother had not been heard from for several weeks, and found a man dead on the second floor of the home.
Police officials say the victim appeared to have trauma to his head, and an electrical cord wrapped around his neck, and appears to have been dead for about two weeks in the house. A subsequent investigation has discovered that the victim was in a relationship with a man who lived at the home, but was not there when police arrived. The investigation also revealed a history of domestic violence calls at the home.
Jones, according to police officials, admitted to assaulting and killing the victim during an interview with police. He has been booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on murder charges.
