Peoria police trying to identify dead man found under an overpass

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Peoria are still trying to identify a dead man found under an overpass late last year.

According to officials, the body was located Dec. 18 in the area of Grand Avenue and 75th Avenue at approximately 11:15 a.m. Police say it's unclear how the death occurred, but it appears the man may have fallen from the overpass.

"Peoria Detectives have been attempting to identify the male through a number of methods and have been unsuccessful. They have exhausted all resources and are now seeking public assistance to identify the male," stated Officer Brandon Sheffert.

Officials say the man has a distinct tattoo of a cartoon character on his upper right arm.

The person is described as a white male, with a medium build, long hair on the top and shaved on the sides. When the man's body was found, he was wearing brown work boots with no laces, blue jeans, a black belt with white skulls, a black T-shirt with a dog on the front and a blue denim jacket. He also had several metal necklaces around his neck and a small black bag with him.
