Phoenix Children's Hospital helps hungry children with cereal drive

Phoenix Children's Hospital is giving back in a big way.

Todd Nickoles with PCH says a cereal drive sparks friendly competition between the hospital staff every year.

"So this is a part of an annual competition and food drive that we participate in every year with other children's hospitals around the country," he said. "We have an inter-departmental competition where we raise as many boxes of cereal as we can."

With thousands of boxes collected, all donations will be given to St. Mary's Food Bank.

"This is 1.3 million servings of cereal at a time when children will be getting out of school and they don't have access to get into the school and they need to write a book that's gonna change lives in our community," said Tom Kertif of St. Mary's Food Bank.
