PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A month ago Wednesday, a gunman opened fire on a Las Vegas concert, killing 58 people. Since then, there has been a call to ban a device called the "bump stock".
It's a device the shooter used to make his gun fire rapidly, like an automatic weapon. On Wednesday night, the Phoenix City Council took up the issue of banning bump stocks, even though Arizona has a law that prohibits cities from passing laws that step on the toes of state law, which includes regulating guns.
The council denied the petition, while agreeing to support legislation on a state level. FOX 10's Stefania Okolie reports.
