Phoenix Fire respond to smoke at terminal 4 at Sky Harbor Airport

Phoenix Fire crews responded to a first alarm fire at terminal 4 in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Fire officials initially responded to a report of smoke coming from the roof of the terminal. Firefighters made their way to the roof while others headed into the interior of the terminal.

The source of the smoke was identified as burning embers from a wood burning stove in Blanco Tacos. The restaurant is located in the terminal 4 concourse.

Crews utilized fans to assist in clearing the smoke from the ventilation chimney.

Once the smoke cleared, firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to ensure the fireplace and ventilation chimney was clear of heat.

No flights were impacted from this incident, according to Sky Harbor operations.
