PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Phoenix Police early Friday morning responded to the scene of a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. The collision occurred on the eastbound Interstate 10 Frontage Road near 59th Avenue.
Police say 36-year-old Pedro Ibarra was traveling at a high rate of speed on the eastbound I-10 access road when he lost control and struck a curb, which caused the motorcycle to go off the road into a dirt field, striking a light pole. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Eastbound I-10 between 59th and 51st Avenue will be closed during the investigation.
