PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are investigating an accidental shooting near 38th Avenue and Greenway, at a QuikTrip gas station.

Police say a 10-year-old child was shot by a shotgun that had fired from inside while standing outside his family's truck.

He was transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Family members say the gun was in the backseat where someone inside moved the weapon and it caused the shotgun to fire.

At the scene, you could see a vehicle at the fuel pumps with an exit bullet hole.

FOX 10's Matt Galka says the child was speaking and alert.

The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
