Illinois man and teen die in double shooting

A man and teen traveling to Arizona from Illinois have both died after a double shooting last week.

Phoenix police say 16-year-old Faith Kies and 24-year-old Alexander O'Neill died after a shooting inside O'Neill's parent's home.

Police responded to the home to follow up on a report about a missing girl from Illinois. When they arrived, homeowners admitted the girl was staying there and agreed to go get her. That's when officers heard two shots fired from inside the home. Inside they found both Kies and O'Neill suffering from gunshot wounds.

O'Neill was pronounced dead at the scene and Kies was taken to a hospital where she later died.

Investigators believe O'Neill turned the gun on himself, and it's believed the two may have been in some sort of relationship.

Kies was a native of McHenry County in Illinois. She died in the hospital on Saturday as a result of her injuries.
