PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Police officials say they are investigating the shooting the shooting of a 4-year-old boy on Monday.
According to police, officers were called to a home near 19th Avenue and Cactus Road at around 5:15 p.m., for a child who was hurt. The 4-year-old boy, police say, was shot, but the injury was not life threatening.
At first, Phoenix police officials said the gunshot injury was self-inflicted, but police later said they are investigating the "circumstances surrounding the injury".
Meanwhile, police said the 4-year-old boy has been taken to the hospital, and is expected to live.
