Teen brothers struck, killed in north Phoenix

- UPDATE: Phoenix Police have identified the two teens who were hit and killed last night as Roger Gamez-Rodriguez, 15, and Iran Gamez, 17. At this time, police say impairment does not appear to be a factor in the collision.

Phoenix Fire officials said two teenagers are dead, following an incident Friday night.

According to a brief statement by Phoenix Fire, the incident took place in the area of Tatum and Shea, before 8:00 p.m. Friday.

According to Phoenix Police, a 15-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene, while another teen was taken to a trauma center, where he later died.

According to a statement issued by Sgt. Mercedes Fortune with Phoenix Police, witnesses said the two teens were running in the roadway, and were involved in a physical altercation when they were struck by the car. Witnesses on the scene also reported that the two were brothers.

The driver of the car, according to Sgt. Fortune, remained at the scene after the collision.

Phoenix Police, according to fire officials, are investigating the incident.
