PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Phoenix Police say a home invasion near 17th Ave and Peoria on Friday night left one man dead and one man in critical but stable condition.
"It was a little after 1 a.m. when the individuals tried to get into the house," Jamie said.
So, the homeowner took action.
"That's when the homeowner shot them. One of them passed away from their injuries and the other was taken to the hospital." 34-year-old Michael Ahumada was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police add while piecing together the evidence, tips from the public are always welcome, even if the information may seem insignificant.
"We're always looking for more information from the community," Said Sgt. Jamie Rothschild with the Phoenix Police Department. "Sometimes people overhear something or have information that may be helpful in that investigation. So we encourage anyone who has more information about this to let us know please."
