Suspect shot and killed after attempting to attack Phoenix Police with a knife

- UPDATE: Phoenix Police have identified the deceased suspect as 23-year-old Kevin Robles.

Sgt. Alan Pfohl with the Phoenix Police Department says the officer-involved shooting happened near 75th Avenue and Glenrosa.

Officers responded to vehicle break-in when they came across the suspect in the street, who police say, looked agitated.

The suspect was holding a knife and refused to drop it after multiple commands from police.

Police say they attempted to use a taser on Robles three times, but they all failed.

Robles began to advance toward the officers with his knife, and police say that's when an officer shot at the suspect.

The suspect was then taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There were no injuries to officers.

A folding knife was found at the scene.
