Phoenix Police arrest man believed to have taken 9-year-old from home

Phoenix Police have arrested a man who is accused of trying to take a nine-year-old from a home.

According to Sgt. Mercedes Fortune, officers responded to 1900 block of W. Glendale Avenue at around 4:00 a.m. on Friday. Witnesses at the scene say the victim asked for help, and was taken from the home by an unknown suspect.

The victim, according to police, was not hurt during the incident, and was able to flee from the suspect.

Police say on Saturday at about 12:30am, they located a suspect matching a description given by the victim in the area of 18th Avenue and Glendale Avenue. The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Dakota J. Johnson and he has been booked for kidnapping.
